BELONIA (South Tripura), Oct 17 (TIWN): CPI-M has kicked off massive protest statewide voicing against the politically motivated case against former PWD Minister Badal Choudhury.
The protest with red-flags started from the party office at there slamming the BJP Govt for its attempt to harass Badal Choudhury and retired Govt officers who were involved in various construction works for state’s development.
CPI-M’s top leader Nayaran Kar was arrested today morning under Section 353, 212, 120.
It has been alleged that Narayan Kar stopped Badal Choudhury’s bodyguard to enter the CPI-M party office in Melarmath. However, the bodyguard is a Govt employee who has now gone against the party, alleged a source.
Calling a press meet, CPI-M State Secretary Gautam Das has slammed the police for nightlong illegal activities and for raiding Melarmath party office two times. He said, not only Badal Choudhury’s body guard, no Govt staff is allowed under CPI-M office and thus arrest of Narayan Kar is another illegal action of police.
