CPI-M former PWD Minister Badal Choudhury’s bail petition rejected by West District Court in midnight hearing

AGARTALA, Oct 16 (TIWN): After whole day long wait, finally West District Court at midnight has rejected former PWD Minister Badal Choudhury’s anticipatory bail plea. Badal Chouhdury thus can be arrested tonight although police were guarding Melarmath Party office for whole day as if were all set to arrest the CPI-M leader. Badal Chowdhury’s Advicates said, tomorrow bail petition will be filed in the High Court of Tripura and a source said if High Court rejects, CPI-M to immediately approach to the Supreme Court. I.O. has also submitted a petition on 15.10.2019 in this case praying for police remand of the petitioner for 7 (seven) days in case he surrender.FIR was lodged against Tripura CPI-M former PWD Minister Badal Choudhury at West Agartala Police Station with Case No-251/19. The charge against Badal Choudhury was imposed is that in various constructions including road, bridge, Govt quarters Rs. 600 crores were invested by the then Govt but 10% extra was given to the construction agencies.

11.45 PM :

Court rejects Badal Choudhury's bail-plea.

11.55 PM :

Police force have rushed to Melarmath Headquarter to ctach Badal Choudhury. Security has been beefed up across with TSR. So far Badal Choudhury was not arrested till now. 

12. 5 AM :

Till the hearing, all opposition leaders were inside the Party office and then after 12.5 am all opposition leaders led by Manik Sarkar left the party office. No leader gave any reaction on this verdict.

12. 15 AM :

Police came to Melarmath which was dark and  then youths activists talked to police and took some time to allow the police to enter. DYFI Secretary Nabarun Deb asking search warrant from police.

12. 19 AM :

Police trying to enter Melarmath CPI-M HQ but DYFI Secretary Nabarun Deb seeking search warrant. Argument going on with police.

12. 25 AM :

Police trying to enter Melarmath Party office without search warrant, DYFI leaders denied. Arguments are going on. DYFI asked, why Police didn't enter when top leaders were inside the Melarmath office till 12.5 AM ??

12. 30 AM : 

6 Police officials were allowed to enter but police were asked to open the door, not the CPI-M.

12. 40 AM : 

Police continues searches inside Melarmath Party office, but police to some extent violated the guidelines again.

12. 55 AM : 

CPI-M Party office raid ended. This raid was done without search warrant, however, Badal Choudhury was not found. 

1.10 AM : 

Additional SP told media their raid at Melarmath CPI-M party office was unsuccessful but police will be trying to arrest Badal Choudhury by tonight.
