AGARTALA, Aug 16 (TIWN): Even though 2 persons were detained but so far no arrest was done in Battala route auto’s gangrape incident. The Congress led by Youth Congress and Women’s Congress staged a massive protest demanding arrests of the rapists immediately as ‘four days have crossed after the incident’ and in protest they have gheraoed Police Headquarter today. The Congress activists also warned further bigger protest if the culprits are not arrested. According to local report, this horrifying rape incident via Battala route auto which has shaken State Tripura, state police have detained 2 persons. But shockingly out of the 2 arrested persons, one is a police official, but Congress has informed nobody was arrested so far.Accused Pritam Bhowmik (29) who is working under SP security another is Nirmal Bhattacharjee (37), who is a businessman by profession.

Reportedly, Nirmal is residing Aralia’s Ghosh Para area. Against him there are multiple charges for assaulting women.

This lady was brutally gangraped after she was kidnapped when she was travelling via auto to her home from Battala. Later, they attempted to kill her and left on road-side. Due to her major injuries physically and mentally, she could not say her address before media and was saying she wants to go home. Out of fear and shame, she didn’t tell her family members’ names.

At around night 8 pm police station was informed about the incident. Police rushed to the home, where the victim took shelter at Malaynagar.The family which gave her shelter told media, when she came there was no cloth on her body her neck was cut and bleeding heavily.Then she was taken to Anandanagar hospital. Later she was referred in GB hospital.
