AGARTALA, Aug 9 (TIWN): Northeast state Tripura is celebrating World Indigenous Day 2019 on Friday.
Earlier Congress wanted to celebrate this day but didn’t get permission which was condemned by the party and its president Pradyot Deb Barman, who is also the Royal scion of Tripura.
The rally under All Tripura Artist Association also marched in the Rajbari lined areas.
The International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples is observed on 9 August each year to frontup and protect the rights of the world’s indigenous population. This event also recognizes the achievements and contributions that indigenous people make to improve world issues such as environmental protection.
Tripura has 19 tribes and each of them has unique and beautiful cultures and identities.
