Health Dept sounded alerts in Jhumia areas to control malaria outbreak, special focus given in Dhalai District

AGARTALA, June 19 (TIWN): The state govt of Tripura has started blood sample collections in Jhumia areas as the state is suffering from seasonal malaria disease. This year, Chief Minister Biplab Deb has sought ADC funds in NITI Aayog meeting which will focus on this serious problem. In Dhalai District the situation was felt worst and thus Dhalai administration is focused on this particular issue of malaria disease.Every year due to malaria many people, children die in Tripura. State Govt has sought special funds also from centre to overcome the fatal consequences every year.Identification of Jhumias and their Jhum cultivation and sending information to the SDMOs, CMOs about the Jhumias available places are going on in full wave at Dhalai District.Govt has also taken initiative to take regular sample of blood of the Jhumias that includes before going from Jhum cultivation, when they come to market places for and even going to Jhum cultivation sites.

Also CMO, Dhalai and District Malaria officer have been asked to make a data-base of all the Jhumias under District for further course of action.

Special observation has been taken around the rubber cultivation zones.

For awareness purpose, the District malaria officer has been asked to prepare a video on malaria and related issues which may be shown in the market areas. This task has been given on most urgent basis.

Chief Minister Biplab Deb has met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at New Delhi after the 5th NITI Aayog session was ended successfully.

Various demands for state’s development was placed before the PM by Biplab Deb including roadway projects, flood problems and malaria like diseases which grips Tripura each year.
