AGARTALA, June 16 (TIWN): After major defeats for the Lefts parties in Indian Lok Sabha Election, Tripura CPI-M has stated that this winning of BJP was unexpected and at the same time it is also a major setback for the Secular-parties in the country. After State Committee and Central Committee meetings were ended, the CPI-M has finally come up with a conclusion alleging media took a vital role in misinterpreting the “narratives” of the total situation. CPI-M State Secretary Gautam Das alleged, the real issue of the election from GDT to slow economy were sidelines and BJP successfully hijacked the election issue by “Extreme-Nationalism” added by Communal tone of “Hindutva”. Das told media, “RSS controlled BJP’s landslide victory was totally unexpected and also shock for secular parties including CPI-M. The main issues were bypassed. Demonetization under the Modi Govt snatched crores of people’s jobs, due to GST-lakhs of people lost works, slow-economy, communal violence, attack on human rights created a massive anti-incumbency, but the whole issue was diverted by “Ugra-Jatiata Badi” and media led narration of Pulwama terror attack, Balakote strike”.

“Whereas media was campaigning for Modi and Election Commission did not play its neutral role. How EC could spare Modi for violating model code of conduct ? Same the EC had favoured BJP President Amit Shah. EC continued supporting the BJP without listening to opposition”, Gautam Das said.

“BJP used huge money- 27,000 crores indeed, who gave that money ? These all are black moneys”, added Das.

Citing example, Gautam Das said, Mukesh Ambani’s property was rai 23 billion dollar, but in 5 years it went up to 55 billion dollar, Adani was same who skyrocketed his property from 2.6 billion 11.9 billion dollar in last 5 years.

Referring Tripura, Das alleged, in Tripura also media did the same.

“Indeed, Tripura’s election was not an election at all.  Tripura BJP turned Tripura worse than Mamata Banerjee’s West Bengal in shameless poll rigging”, Das told media here.

“50% voters in Tripura could not vote. So many times we went to Election Commission office, but instead of helping is, rather they helped BJP. 7 times our West Tripura candidate was attcaked, in East Tripura our candidate was attacked at least 4 times. Opposition leader Manik Sarkar was attacked in own constituency, but Election Commission’s role was just a show-piece”, said Gautam Das.
