Miscreants continue ‘money extortion’ in BJP attire, public lives suffocating : Resentment screws Govt’s image again

AGARTALA / JIRANIA, June 8 (TIWN): Eventhough BJP’s victory rallies are over, Chief Minister Biplab Deb has warned miscreants to stop harassing the common men multiple times, but there is no respite form the notorious elements under BJP party’s code and symbol. At Jirania Railway Station allegedly heavy money extortions are going on turning the situation critical for the local people specially businessmen. Already, due to money extortion across Tripura people were attacked, beaten, properties were destroyed and the Chief Minister on behalf of his party had almost done apology via a press meet. On yesterday also while addressing at Rabindra Bhawan premise, he warned the miscreants to stop anti-social activities but the era of loot is continuing in the “reality”. It is not only tarnishing Govt’s image but leading trustlessness situation on the law and order among the common people. While interacted, public commented, there must be complaint centres whom they can complain to get immediate relief from such problems. Local police in maximum places chose to be reluctant against such crimes.

The money extortion is not a new thing that it started after Lok Sabha Election, but it was exposed many times in social media how in the name of various programmes roadway goons threaten each vehicle passing to give certain amount of donation or they attack directly.

House to house notice hanging for money extortion have reported many times. State yet to overcome the after-poll shocks of massive violence but the continuous day to day harassments are fueling tension.

As the party yet to set example by expelling party cadres for illegal activities, thus the problems are increasing further.

Govt has formed a panel which will review the post poll violence happened in Tripura leaving at least 4 people dead after 23rd May, 2019.

According to PTI report, after proper examining all culprits will be punished specially in murder cases.

The panel will be headed by Law Minister Ratanlal Nath, Law Secretary Data Mohon Jamatia, Home Dept Additional Secretary Devananda Reang.
