AGARTALA, October 6 (TIWN): Stand of Opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman and PCC president Dibachandra Hwrangkhal on the issue of opposing suspension of Pijush kanti Biswas puts them into backdrop in the party.

Meanwhile five MLAs alongwith other senior leaders of the party decided to reach Delhi to meet in deputation with the ailing AICC president Sonia Gandhi and party Vice President Rahul Gandhi for starting  a thorough overhaul of the paralytic Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC),   also for removal of Sudip Roy Barman from the post of leader of the opposition. Many congress leaders,MLAs complaining that Sudip Roy Barman and his father ex-CM Samir Roy Barman alongwith some other congress leaders functiong more like a stooge of CM Manik Sarkar and CPIM Party. Common public is confused with these disarray situation of Congress Party. 

It is to be mentioned here that Piyush Biswas and Prasanta Sen Chowdhury has been alleged of disobeying the Congress party’s decision in recently held Bar Association Election. It is claimed by Biswas that he could not do much for the lawyers because of having other two members in the Committee and that was the reason for merging with CPIM. However the election of the Tripura Bar Council was held on 5th of last month. In the election, three panels had taken part. But none of them was able to bag total majority. Congress Lawyers cell bagged six seats and CPIM panel got six seats. Individual contestant Purushottam Roy Barman got one seat.

This anti-party behavior led to the suspension of Pijush Kanti Biswas and Prashanta Sen Chowdhury,which already created dissension among the Congress Party. It is to be mentioned here that Piyush Kanti Biswas and Prashanta Sen Chowdhury had been suspended from the PCC for their anti-Party activities. Both are elected members of AICC State Legal and Human Rights Departments. But on another hand, Birajit Sinha and Ratan Lal Nath has supported these two advocates. While speaking to TIWN, Sudip Roy Barman told that” I have welcomed the party’s decision.”Party has taken the right decision as there is enough evidence against the two candidates for having disobeyed the party decisions. “He further added Mr. Biswas have violated the Act of Congress constitution and joined hands with CPIM only for achieving the Bar Council Chairman Post.

But on the other hand some leaders are in protest against the suspension. Their word is that Sudip and Dibachandra always focused on their own profit. So, they decided to meet with the higher leaders of party and Congress High-command to resolve the issue. However, on last Sunday, delegation leaders like Gopal Chandra Roy, Ratan Lal Nath, Pranjit Sinha Roy and Jitendra Sarkar with local MLAs held  a high level meeting in the house of Piyush kanti Biswas. They decided to nominate the name of Gopal Chandra Roy as opposition leader and Birajit Sinha as President of PCC. Also sources informed that if they are elected then the defectors of the party like Subal Bhowmik and Ratan Chakraborty will again join back to the party.

In the meanwhile, ruling CPIM enjoying Opposition's ping-pong infighting and drama.
