Tripura's school education sector collapses in rural areas of golden Tripura

Agartala, October 3 (TIWN): Tripura's education sector is getting destroyed day by day by the ignorant administration and politicians. Overwhelming majority of rural schools have no clean drinking water facilities or toilets for all students. Basic amenities like chairs, tables are missing from classrooms - question is where all the money from central fund is going ?

Though rural schools in Tripura  have some kind of drinking water facilities but not clean, very less access to a hand pump for water;  no access to a well neither access to tap water.

But 5 per cent of schools do not yet have access to drinking water facilities at all. While more than 30 per cent of schools have some drinking water facility, not much is known about the adequacy of the water supply (is one hand pump enough for a school with over 200 students?) or the quality of the water supply (is the water being regularly tested to make sure it is clean?). Does the water facility provide the school with water? The availability of toilets in rural schools is more limited with less than 5 per cent of schools having a common facility. Less than 30 per cent of schools have a girls toilet. As with access to drinking water, having a toilet facility is no guarantee that it works or is utilized by the students. Teacher quality is firstly measured in terms of the teachers academic qualifications, their education levels, and their professional teaching qualifications but it is also missing here in Tripura at rural primary level teachers. Most of the teachers are selected from Party Cadre list. Lot of those primary education teachers in rural areas are carpenter, shopkeeper ,farmer with minimum qualification to face any interview/test. As a result, primary education is in deplorable condition in this Golden age of Manikbabu in Tripura.  Gomati District administration prefers to blow trumpets of "Unnatisheel Gomati " PR campaigns but its hightime they visit  Chagaram para SB school of Natunnagar under Amarpur Sub division Gomati District. Tripura is one of the top recipient state of central funds in every categories from MGNREGA, RMSA to other schemes. A well organized nexus of politicians and administrative officers continue to loot Tripura in every districts.

Tripura people can only hope that, someday in future, these sins will catch up with corrupt politicians, administrative officers and we will see examples like Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Ms. Jayalalitha or UP's Chief Secretary Ms. Neera Yadav, IAS convicted of corruption and rotting in jails.
