AGARTALA, Nov 20 (TIWN): With a major breakthrough, serious revelation of Tripura BJP General Secretary Pratima Bhowmik's nexus with Northeast Youth Festival Fund expenditure came in news reports which have shocked public as well as BJP supporters.
The report was published first in 'Times Today', a Bengali web-page in Tripura and the main accuser Tapas who got tenderless 1.70 crores of project (80 lakhs in Northeast Youth Festival and rest for Cricket related items purchasing) actually took that money in exchange of his home, according to the news portal 'Times Today'.
Tapas's Ganaraj Chowmuhani home was occupied by Pratima Bhowmik since 2 years but no rent was given to him and now when Tapas demanded his money, then Bhomwik allegedly threatened him to tie under fake drug case. After many fightings and arguments there was a deal that she will "manage" huge amounts for him and that 80 lakhs in the name food arrangement was given to him without tender.
At first he got Rs. 90 lakhs to buy bowling machine, whereas only Rs. 75 lakh was the main expenditure. Then again without tender he was given responsibility of arranging food for the artists who came from other states to participate in Northeast Youth Festival. On this purpose Rs. 80 lakh was given to him, whereas the performers alleged that the food quality was of very low standard. Now question has raised, why in favour of Tapas, Pratima Bhowmik organized such big gifts ?? Before election, Bhowmik was also using Tapas's luxurious vehicle day-night. A section BJP activists, leaders have expressed massive anger on such activity as if tender was given then a huge number of unemployed youths could be helped.
Pratima Bhowmik is controlling the whole Sports Dept and even she is posting in her facebook page how she is holding meetings in DM Office for Sports cultures, even though she has no link with Sports Dept or the administration.
