AGARTALA, Oct 9 (TIWN): Confirming double that Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh gave positive response for Tripura NRC, INPT President Bijoy Kumar Hrangkhawl declined the MHA press briefing where Govt of India has declined INPT's claim of "NRC likely to be implemented" in Tripura as true.
Hrangkhawl said that no such notice was issued for INPT from MHA regarding misinterpretation of dialogues, rather the press briefing from where actually came nobody knows.
The INPT leader also added, most likely that report was created by Agartala rather than Delhi.
After INPT's meeting with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh news came 'NRC likely to be in Tripura', Govt of India rubbished the claim.
"News reports have appeared to the effect that a delegation of Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura (INPT), after a meeting with Union Home Minister, has claimed that NRC is likely to be implemented in Tripura. These reports are absolutely incorrect and mischievous", PTI reported.
Union Home Minister met a delegation of INPT led by its President Bijoy Kumar Hrangkhawl on 4th October, 2018. However, no assurance of any kind was given by Union Home Minister regarding implementation of NRC in the State of Tripura. It is categorically asserted that no decision has been taken on the issue of NRC in Tripura", PTI reported.
In a petition of another tribal party (Tripura People’s Front" (TPF), the Supreme Court on Monday has sought State and Centre's response to the plea.
