Countdown begins for Durga Puja as 7 days left

AGARTALA, Oct 8 (TIWN): As only 7 days left for Durga Puja, Agartala city has been geared up to celebrate Durga Puja for long four days.

Tripura is celebrating Mahalaya across on Monday and after 7 days Saptami puja to start.  

Markets are overcrowded due to shopping craze among the people, specially women are more in number than men in shopping complexes. 

Even though it's a Bengali community's celebration but in Tripura Tribals and Bengalis celebrate in full enthusiasm amid peace and harmony since decades. Indeed, Durgotsav has become the greatest festival of Tripura. 

For Bengali people Durga puja is the greatest celebration in the whole year. People, especially women, children and girls eagerly wait for the 1st day of Durga Puja. Already markets are stocked with new collection of dresses.

From Oct 13, pandal inaugurations to be started. However, due to rural economy is down, this year overall business is running at loss.
