UDAIPUR, Oct 3 (TIWN): Acting on a secret and authenticated information Gomati District Police led by Addl SP Nabadweep Jamatia late last night arrested the master of drug syndicate at Udaipur Swarup Bhattarjee from his residence located West Bank of Jagannath Dighi ,Udaipur . Police was looking for him for the last two weeks . Swarup , S/O- Sri Swapan Bhattacharjee, a retired teacher of Udaipur Ramesh H.S.School, Swarup also a Senior journalist cum former President of Udaipur Press Club, presently an influential member of Gomati District Press Club, was earlier arrested on 29th September,2017 along with Debanjan Chakraborty and other red handed with brown sugar from a house of Madhyapara, Udaipur .

But due to extreme political pressure, police were compelled to release Swarup on that very night keeping no record of his arrest . Recently, after Debanjan's arrest the case came into limelight and ultimately police succeeded to grab Swarup .

A highly placed TIWN sources add that on 4th April 2018 state Forensic Department submitted the reports saying that all materials seized by R K Pur police in the evening of 29/9/2017 were Brown Sugar. Immediately police registered a Suomuto Case against the culprits under    21 The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act,1985, commonly referred to as NDPS Act under Section 8 and 29 case no RKPPS/2018/079 . 

Since the arrest of Debanjan Chakraborty from Kailashahar Swarup wad absconding and playing a trick tp befool the police by making Facebook post of his presebce in Delhi & Goa . But during that time he was at Udaipur . Meanwhile, Swarup's father Swapan Bhattacharjee tried to divert the case through BJP leader cum CM's close aide Santosh Saha by influencing police .But a top level official  told TIWN that Chief Minister Biplab Kr Deb totally rejected to interfer as it is an NDPS Act case. 

It is also learnt that DIG Crime V S Jadav too visited Udaipur last week to find out the clues related to the details of this case and Swarup's involvement in this case. Somehow, Swarup's father got the information and made a plan to surrender his son this morning . However, Gomati District Police got authenticated information and arrested him from his own residence. 

Today he will be produced before the court and police will ask remand for him. Unfortunately, a group of reporters of Udaipur is learnt to have started putting pressure on the police to hide Master of Drug Racket of Udaipur Swarup Bhattacharjee from this serious case. TIWN appeals to the state Home Department ,"Give full freedom to police and the Crime branch and many more kingpins are sure to come under the grip. "
