AGARTALA, Sep 7 (TIWN): With a good news for passengers, Tripura Road Transport Corporation (TRTC) has re-launched the bus services from September 7.
However only three bus services are available : 1) Agartala-Kamalpur (Rs. 68 fare), 2) Agartala-Bisramganj at Rs. 25 fare 3) Agartala-Belonia at Rs. 70 fare.
TRTC chairman Alik Majumder said, “We are trying to give the passenger TRTC service again. Under the CPI-M era TRTC went in ICU. So now we are recovering the service from deep coma”.
“It will also be connected with SMART City project. TRTC has many buses but in private hands or in paralyzed conditions. Now we will return the service back”, Majumder added.
TRTC has been an excellent service but since 2012 its business downed under the then Transport Minister Manik Dey.
The new govt don’t have to buy a single bus but with proper utilization the service can be resumed and customers can get relief when unruly bus drivers are harassing passengers everyday.
