UDAIPUR, July 30 (TIWN): Tripura University Vice Chancellor Dr Vijaykumar Laxmikantrao Dharurkar on Monday said that the role of Press will be increasing day by day with the increase in the Literacy rate of the state and the country.
A seminar was conducted at Udaipur Jela Parishad Conference Hall with the initiative of Udaipur Press Club.
Along with media persons, students of various schools had attended the seminar under the banner of “Rashtra kalyan, Sadharan Manush o Sangbadikata”.
Garjanmura School, Matabari School, & Kakraban School, Girls’ School, Assam Rifles School, English Medium School, Shalghara school students were present on that occasion.
The VC said, “Earlier Tripura had only very few newspapers but now around 60 newspapers are being published from the State. With the increase of literacy rate the demand of media will be increased more and more”.
“I am here for five years. Hoping a great development of Tripura media world in coming days”, Laxmikantrao added.
