AGARTALA, May 29 (TIWN): State Veterinary College staffs have gone for unofficial holidays as the students have sat on strike since two days.Students are not blocking roads as last time after B.Ed College students staged demonstrations in front of Secretariat road, the state govt had allegedly filed cases against 40 B.Ed students. But when with valid demands Veterinary students sat in protest in democratic manner inside the College, then they have been alienated from the administration as if the students are 'enemy' of the State Govt. Without registrations since two years the passed out students of the College are unable to continue private practices. In this situation after 3 years of wait when students sat in protest they have been alienated from the administration. On yesterday, the Veterinary students and passed out students of Tripura Veterinary College have locked the main gate of the college calling strike for an uncertain period of time.

The banners which have been hanged at the locked gate said, “We are mouths without Teeth without Registration”, “Without Registration we are Worthless” etc. The students also raised voice saying, “Wake up authority”, “Value our tears”, “You can’t play with our futures”, “Please Give our registration, we want to work for the society”. Tripura State Veterinary College's affiliation was expired and since two years students are passing out without any registration numbers.

But even after two days of their strike, no Minister came to meet them to know their demands. Moreover, College authority along with staffs are totally ignoring the students and sitting at homes.

The opposition CPI-M is also unable to face the students as the problem was created basically during Manik Sarkar's regime.
