AGARTALA, May 23 (TIWN): Tripura University's 11th convocation is once again under scanner after Governor Tathagata Roy during his speech in the convocation hit the University Heads for their attempts of hiding ‘truths’ and ‘suppressing’ facts. Governor was offered with a ready-made script, which he denied to accept and thus delivered his own version in the 11th convocation of the University. Governor also referred the morning news reports against the University Vice Chancellor Anjan Kumar Ghosh. Addressing at the convocation ceremony, Governor Tathagata Roy said, “It’s quite surprising, why there was no convocation in last 5 years ? It means all is not well in this University. Something, which you didn’t want to bring before the press, may be that was the reason as a convocation should be a continuous processâ€. Hitting the pathetic condition of the website of the University, the Governor said there is no mention about the history that Tripura University is a Central University and still it’s showing as a state University only in the website. “For what an website is if it can not describe the whole story?â€, Roy further raised question. "I was in press, I was in politics.....so I know how corruption functions. So I also don't trust each line of a newspaper", Governor added.
Governor also suggested that feeding stomach with ‘calpol’ can not end the disease forever.
Noteworthy, the 11th convocation programme at Tripura University arranged by India's most tainted Vice Chancellor Anjan Kumar Ghosh has been slammed by state media. This programme was allegedly arranged to suppress the corruption related histories held inside the University under Anjan Kumar Ghosh's Vice Chancellorship.
VC Anjan Kumar Ghosh appointed many private employees, media persons illegally as advisers led mass furies among University staffs back in 2017
Today ahead of Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu's arrival leading newspapers of the state have reacted sharply against the Vice President's dais sharing with the corrupt VC, demanding proper investigation in E-Book scam.
Under this Vice Chancellor, Tripura University downed from 88th to 196th position in ranking on the basis 'quality'.
In 2017 an audit team of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) had inspected records to verify the charges brought against the VC, but the investigation didn't not end satisfactorily amid senior professors continuous claims about the ongoing corruptions.
Ghosh illegally appointed various non-teaching staffs depriving his own Universities qualified employees, but due to his advisers by manipulating media power the VC is going to take retirement spotlessly.
Corrupt VC Anjan Ghosh and his right hand ‘PR Consultant’ Manas Pal insulted Education Minister by not allowing his speech at convocation. Manas Pal and VC Anjan Ghosh deleted Education Minister’s name from list of speakers after the corrupt duo felt that Ratan Lal Nath might expose various Tripura University corruptions.
Governor also hit the Vice Chancellor on delaying of exam results issues and the allegations brought by some professors in the University back in 2017.
