AGARTALA, Feb 19 (TIWN): The ruling CPI-M has lodged an complain with the Election Commission of India regarding an EVM's malfunctioning booth -49/ 31 of Chawmanu.
In a complaint, CPI-M wrote to EC, "It is reported that booth -49/ 31 of Chawmanu constituency, whichever button is pressed, maximum votes are going for BJP's symbol lotus".
The CPI-M had also lodged a complaint with Election Commission of India regarding Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s alleged roaming across the poll-stations during polling hours.
In a complaint to EC, CPI-M wrote, “It has come to our notice, Himanta Biswa Sarma, Finance Minister of Assam and a key political functionary of BJP has been found at Agartala on the day of poll at 3.55 PM”.
“This is on violation of clear prohibition, made by the CEO Tripura. He has been see at Barjala (4) constituency roaming from BJP poll booth offices”, the complaint said further.
CPI-M has sought necessary action against Himanta Biswa Sarma and the EVM malfunctioning incident both.
