AGARTALA, Feb 17 (TIWN): CPI-M’s misrule not only resulted mass deprivation in jobs , education, healthcare but Manik Sarkar Govt failed to provide basic road transports due to corrupt PWD Dept. Even though Tripura Assembly is taking place in winter season, but who can forget about the monsoon nightmares of last few years which time to time paralyzed the connectivity of Tripura on National Highways and other roads ? With slight rains the roads went under waist-level rain water and a 2 hours journey became 5-6 hours journey with addition of massive sufferings during rainy seasons. Udaipur-Agartala route, one of the closest subdivision till day is suffering from pathetic road condition even though before four years the project was given to PWD.

Seeing PWD’s corruption and empty results after crores of funding, finally under the Modi Govt, all such projects were taken back to hand NHIDCL and since one year the road has been fixing with advanced technology from Agartala to Sabroom.

The Assam-Agartala road which suffered for 15 years has also recovered and in much more better shape after Centre’s intervention.

Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari during election campaigning in Tripura while addressing in a public rally said that if BJP comes in power Rs. 11,000 crores road construction will take place in next two years. "Tripura roads are so pathetic that people are unable to travel through bikes and vehicles at safe. However, under the Modi Govt the road-maps are developing a lot. All the highways are being constructed are under my  dept. I promise you after BJP comes in power Rs. 11,000 crores road construction will take place in next 2 years", he added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 8 while addressing at Sonamura said, “Tripura needs much more development and that’s why we don’t need further any Manik but need Hira now”. Explaining the meaning of Hira in his own language (in English diamond), PM Modi said, “Hira has a meaning. We all need Hira, but here Hira means H for Highway, I for I-ways means the digital-waves (Internet), R for Railway and A for Airway”.“Tripura will have three “T”. T for Trade, T for Tourism and T for Trainings for unemployed youths. One the one side, we will have connectivity and on the other side, developments will come, livelihoods of common men to be changed”, said Modi.

Now it’s up to the voters, whether they would give a 5 years chance to the BJP to see whether they can bring HIRA or not.
