National Commission for Women leader vis | AGARTALA, June 20 (TIWN): Leader of National Commission for Women Sushma Sahu in her one day visit in Tripura has ranked the state as 1st among Northeast in rape cases. Addressing a press conference, Sushma Sahu at Gitanjali Guest House said, "I am shocked to see the data I received from Tripura in crime against women". Targeting media politics Sahu said that the way the crime is happening in state, at the national level the whole issue has remained hidden. "From outside, state Tripura is still believed as a peaceful state and no media highlights the issues seriously in National TV channels", said Sahu. Sahu who was in blasting mood after meeting various victim families whose daughter were killed and few household tortures, had called the DGP A K Sulka and blasted him especially regarding Anuara murder case. Manik Sarkar Govt's mass deprivation con | AGARTALA, June 20 (TIWN): With a heartbreaking news for the Govt Employees, Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha announced on Tuesday that in return of the 4th Saturday's holiday from July 1st onwards the Govt employees have to work till 5.30 PM everyday across all the offices. Immediately, this has generated huge resentment among the state govt employees, whereas private company employees are silently enjoying. Attack upon BSF Jawans after Indian man | SONAMURA, June 17 (TIWN): One Ali Mia of age 50 died at Sonamura, on the opposite side of the Indian border fencing. Reportedly, Ali Mia like everyday went for cultivation crossing the fencing gate at the disputed Indian land. Those lands although on the opposite side of the border-fencing, but it still belong to India and known as disputed or No-Man's-Land. But suddenly he fall on the water and died as the water-level increased due to rainfalls in last 24 hours. Getting informed although fire brigade came, but they were much late as well as it took some time to open the gate by BSF. Reportedly, for the security purpose BSF jawans are not provided with the gate key all the time. Later, local people, BSF, fire brigade recovered his dead body from the lake after the key was brought from the BOP. Soon, the body was sent to hospital but doctors declared him as dead.
