Tripura's 386 Forest Dept  Employees to go on Strike from Wednesday

AGARTALA, June 18 (TIWN): Atleast 396 Forest dept Employees to go on en mass strike from Wednesday. The 396 workers who are working in contractual basis had attempted many times with various protests to be regularized but all the initiatives remained as transferring of files from this table to that table.

Manik Sarkar who had made the Forest Dept contractual employees happy on May-31st saying that they will be regularized. The employees who were denied by Forest & Finance Minister for meeting was very happy when atlast the Chief Minister talked to them and said, "I will open your files".But where is Manik Sarkar ? And, where his promise ?

On Friday, the irregular forest dept employees once again wanted to meet the Finance Minister but his PA said that the Minister already left even though they had taken appointments.

As a result, from June 21st the employees to go on work-strike for an uncertain period of time, the deprivers told TIWN.

Tripura irregular employees under Forest Dept in demand of being regularized once again raised voice before media on Wednesday. Being failed to meet the Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha and insulted by Forest Minister Naresh Jamatia, the deprived 386 irregular employees gheraoed Chief Minister Manik Sarkar’s residence in demand to be regularized and to meet him personally to place deputation before the CM. There are total 386 irregular employees in Forest Dept are working since 15 years, but the state govt has no concern to make them regular, alleged the irregular employees while standing in front of CM’s residence. The agitators further said that on Sunday the met the Forest Minister Naresh Jamatia at his residence, but instead of showing sympathy the Forest Minister blasted them asking whereas BJP has sent them with demands. Reportedly, later Manik Sarkar met them and told them he will look after the issue and open their file soon, but it seems all were just to control the anger on the heat of the moment as the workers to go on strike from June 21st.
