AGARTALA, Jan 26 (TIWN): On 72nd Republic Day like every year, a knockout tennis cricket tournament was organized by 31 R K Pur Mondal. Minister of State for Tourism and Transport, Pranjit Singh Roy, inaugurated the tournament by hoisting the Bharatiya Janata Party flag and lighting lamps.

Apart from Pranjit, President of Gomati district council, Swamin Adhikari, MLA of 30 Bagma Assembly constituency, Rampad Jamatia, Gomati district BJP president Abhishek Debroy, former mayor Sheetal Majumder, and 31 Arkepur Mandal president Prabir Das were also present there.

The opening match was played between the 22nd Waz and Dhajnagar Panchayat. Addressing the event, Pranjit expressed his pleasure towards R K Pur Mondal for organizing the tournament every year and also asked Mahila Morcha to take initiative to organize such tournaments for cricket and football too to encourage the women players of the state.
