AGARTALA, Nov 6 (TIWN): Rejecting Citizenship Amendment Bill’s support from Congress party, top Congress leader Jairam Ramesh who is visiting Tripura aimed to strengthen the party said that it is a violation of constitution written by Dr B R Ambedkar as the country is a secular by nature whereas today BJP is functioning in all ways against the democracy and the constitution. He said Congress will protest against it at 'Tooth and nail'.

He said, deprivation or alienation to a particular religion is not acceptable in a country like India.

Talking about Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB), the Congress leader said it is a violation of constitution written by Dr B R Ambedkar as the country is a secular by nature whereas today BJP is functioning in all ways against the democracy and the constitution.

"If the Citizenship Amendment Bill is passed, there will be adverse impact in the NE states. More so, the Northeast India has got destabilized after the BJP came to power”, he added.
