AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, May 25 (TIWN): Election Commission of India (ECI) has failed to provide security to the citizens of Tripura after poll was ended, said Congress State President Pradyot Manikya.
Congress is moving Supreme Court demanding compensation from the State Govt for the victims of post poll violence.
Pradyot Manikya said, as much as violence will continue the demand of compensation from the State Govt will increase.
“It is duty of the election commission and administration to safeguard the people. But as they could not provide security according to their duty norms, thus it is now their responsibility to compensate us”, Pradyot Manikya said.
Massive post poll violence continues across the State. Over hundreds of people are hospitalized in critical situation. Thousands of property losses are being reported across the state.
