Islamabad, Aug 17 (TIWN) The monsoon rain in Pakistan have caused massive damages in different parts of the country, with Balochistan province being the worst-hit.
"The province now requires at least 35 billion PKR for damage recovery and rehabilitation," he added.
As per details shared by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), at least 196 people -- 96 men, 45 women, 55 children -- have lost their lives till now.
"The heavy rain caused a loss of over 500,000 livestock and damaged crops on 198,461 acres of farmland in Balochistan," said the PDMA.
"Eighty-one people -- 49 men, 12 women, 20 children -- were also injured due to floods, while over 10,000 people were displaced."
A PDMA report stated that most deaths in Balochistan were reported in Chaman, Kachi, Barkhan, Dera Bugti, Zhob, Duki, Pishin, Panjgur, Kohlu, Killa Saifullah, Sibi, Lasbela, Loralai, Jaffarabad, Kalat, Kach, Khuzdar and other districts.
