Housewife allegedly Burnt to 'Death' by In-Laws at Ambassa

AGARTALA, July 27 (TIWN): In Tripura, crime against women are increasing on alarming note. In yet another case, a housewife was allegedly brutally killed by her husband and in-laws at Ambasa. Her in-laws allegedly set her on fire and on Monday the victim succumbed to death.

By pouring kerosene a housewife was killed by in-laws members. Such a pathetic incident occurred in Kulai, Ambassa.Reportedly, the victim identified as Pallab Prabha Sarkar got married to Shankar NamaShudra few years back. After few months of marriage her husband and her mother-in-law Sarathi Namasudra allegedly started mentally and physically torturing her.She has been set on fire by her husband and in-laws, alleged victim's mother. On Monday the victim succumbed to death at GB hospital. A case has been registered against her husband and in-laws. However, the husband absconded from the place after receiving her death news. Her mother sought strong action against the accused.

According to family Sources, 3 years back Kanak Prabha Sarkar D/o- Gopal Sarkar of Charipara Socially married with Shankar Nama Sudra of Kulai, Ambassa but after their marriage the husband allegedly started torturing her Physically and Mentally without proper reason. Over this torture Panchayat meeting was also held but no solution was done. The criminal husband, Shankar poured kerosene on the housewife, Kanak on 29th May and set fire on her at night. Over pouring kerosene the housewife body was almost burnt except the face reportedly later she was brought to GB hospital for better treatment.

After fighting with death atGB hospital bed, the housewife fell on the lap of death today, and after the demise of the housewife it is known her in-laws members fled away from the GB hospital premises. Centering the housewife's demise the shadow of mourning has descended over the family.
