AGARTALA, Sep 21 (TIWN): A young journalist of DIN RAT local TV network was today brutally killed at Mandai. The journalist was covering news at the area where political clash between two political parties was going on since last afternoon. Discharging professional responsibilities is not a crime and therefore cannot be answerable to anyone.

Santanu Bhowmik, 28, was an innocent guy and never ever involved himself with any untoward incident. The killing of such an innocent person has saddened us and all the peace loving people of the state as well.

Tripura Union of Working Journalists condemn the killing and believe that it was the most brutal act on the part of any group or individual in the state so far of the journalist of the state is concerned. Committing this heinous crime was an attempt to stall the movement of the journalists and covering news relating to anti-national and anti-people activities. We strongly criticize this barbaric act and demand to the state govt and the DGP to nab the culprits at the earliest.
