AGARTALA, July 18 (TIWN): Finally, Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy has taken the charge of the law and order of the state, when the Chief Minister Manik Sarkar had failed to do. BJP delegates met Tathagata Roy in the afternoon and told him in details about the law and order situation and destroying communal harmony of the state. For the first time in the history the Governor has also met the Tribal IPFT leaders and talked directly of their demands and agitation. With the suggestion of Governor, BJP after 13 hours have also ended their demonstration in front of Chief Minister’s residence, in a press meet, Biplab Deb told media. Addressing the media in the evening, BJP State President Biplab Deb said, “After Governor had decided not to continue the blockade in front of CM’s residence, thus we have decided to go by honourable governor’s decision. We already lost hope on Manik Sarkar, but we do believe that the Governor will handle everything nicely and also the bloackade will end soonâ€.“Governor is very serious on this sensitive issue that is damaging not only the law and order of the state but also hurting the communal harmony among the people hereâ€, Biplab Deb said.
The BJP leader also said that Tripura Govt’s press release on IPFT’s meeting with Kiren Rijiju was a false press release, which is very unfortunate on behalf of any stat govt.
About Congress strike Deb said, it’s a pre-plan of CPI-M and Congress to collapse the law and order. CITU will help fully to make the strike a success.
However, what the discussion was held among Governor and IPFT, it’s yet to be known.
BJP had gheraoed CM of Tripura demanding to end the blockade at Baramura by IPFT that is going on since 9 days. However, presently BJP with the suggestion of Governor has ended the protest for the sake of law and order.
