AGARTALA, July 5 (TIWN): Finally against the will of thousands of BJP supporters who never wanted Barman in the party, Trinamool Congress MLA, who joined in Trinamool leaving Congress 11 months back, on Wednesday after a meeting with all TMC members decided to split from West Bengal Trinamool Congress and to Vote for BJP Presidential candidate Ram Nath Kovind on July 17 signalling joining BJP ahead of Assembly Election. Resignation letters will be sent to Mamata Banerjee soon, said Party President Asish Saha. Already Party topmost leaders have resigned from their respective posts and going to attend Presidential Election meeting called by Ram Madhabh Ji at Guwahati with Ram Nath Kovind's arrival. However, after the meeting at TMC Bhawan, it was fully cleared that TMC is going to join BJP and as well as voting for Kovind. It was Hemanta Biswa Sarma who asked all the MLAs to vote for BJP candidate in Presidential Election to get a 'ticket' in BJP. When media asked Viki Prasad, Youth leader of Tripura Trinamool, he clearly said that whatever Sudip Barman will decide, we will follow him. A major section of Trinamool leaders were present from various parts of the state with the promise of "No Division of Anti-left vote banks". However, the youth leaders also said that they have full faith on Sudip Barman and whatever he will decide will be good for them too.
All of the members blasted Mamata Banerjee in their bytes saying "After Trinamool at West Bengal now from today we have also announced 'Samparko-Chinno' from them".
Sudip Barman said, “At the beginning we were dedicated to Mamata Banerjee led Trinamool party seeing her anti-CPI-M policy, but now with presidential election, earlier with Demonetization and GST, Trinamool is compromising with CPI-M. Mamata Banerjee should stand beside anti-communist parties as our fight here is against CPI-M only. In this regard a meeting will be held among all the Trinamool MLAs in Tripura on Wednesday".
However, credit goes to Mamata Banerjee for freely constructing a BJP party office at Jackson gate in Agartala with West Bengal Trinamool funds.
