AGARTALA, July 14 (TIWN): The Additional District and Sessions Court is scheduled to announce the verdict of sensational triple murder case on Monday, which rocked the state on May 19, last year, an official source confirmed today.Three non-journalist employees; Ranjit Chowdhury (Manager), Sujit Bhattacharjee (Proof reader) and Balaram Ghosh (Driver) of Dainik Ganadoot Patrika were brutally killed in a broad daylight at Ganadoot Bhavan in Palace compound on May 19, last year. Their death has not been forgotten.

Though the owner-cum-editor of Dainik Ganadoot newspaper- Sushil Chowdhury allegedly tried to flee from the blame of his involvement in triple murder but police had arrested him for masterminding the case on June 07, last year.

The 74-year-old Sushil who had the rare opportunity to travel with several Presidents and Prime Ministers on their foreign trips is currently behind the bars and facing prosecution after a brief police custody since his arrest as his bail pleas were rejected by the Supreme Court and High Court for several times.

However, police claimed in the charge sheet submitted to the court that no 'outsider' was involved in the triple murders. The charge sheet also claimed that the editor conspired with driver Balaram to kill Ranjit. The duo strangled and stabbed him during their lunch break on May 19, last year. Proof reader Sujit Bhattacharjee, on hearing the noise, rushed towards Ranjit's office on the first floor when he was confronted by a knife-wielding Balaram. Both of them engaged in a fierce scuffle and stabbed each other.

The trial including argument of prosecution and deposition teams into triple murder case were concluded before the court few days back. But the court postponed the judgement date as the Additional District and Sessions Judge- Kripankar Chakraborty was on leave for his father's death.

The state people are eagerly waiting for the verdict whether Sushil will get punished or acquitted by the court and they have demanded for the proper justice. Now, the time will say the truth.
