UDAIPUR,July 11(TIWN): "CPI(M) has lost its soil under the feet and eyeing the massive landslides in its own ground due to unabated corruption CPI(M) leaders are now enciyraging their party cadres and criminals to create an atmosphere of terror and panic so that opposition party supporters do not come out of their houses to cast their votes in the upcoming three-tier Panchayat election.

Day by day more and more CPI(M) workers and supporters are now quitting the party and joining hands with BJP to strenthen the anti-Left movement. And CPI(M) party is now really scared of BJP's ever increasing strength in Tripura immediately after the massive victory of Modiji in the 16th Lok Sabha Poll," said once a hard core CPI(M) worker now turned a BJP menber Biswajit Mallik on Friday. Biswajit was reacting to today's incident where BJP's candidate for Holakhet Panchayat(Ward no-2) Iman Hossen was physically assaulted by CPI(M) Udaipur Divisional Committee Member Ochman Gani's son Jahar Hossen on Friday morning. At around 10.30am when Iman was busy in door to door campaign along with his party supporters and workers , suddenly without any provocation Jahar Hossen attacked on them and as a result an aged BJP suppoter Ananta Debnath was injured. Seeing this Iman came running there to rescue Ananta but Iman himself was seriously injured by Jahar and had to be admitted in Tripura Sundari Hospital. The BJP leader alleged that everythi g happened in presence of Ocham Gani, who was silently watching the incident without preventing his son from doing such things. Iman Hossen is theson of Ochman Gani's younger brother.

Hearing about the news BJP's Sub Divisional and District committee leaders along with the leaders and supporters of the Matabari Mandal blocked  Udaipur-Shantirbazar road of NH44 at Chandrapur Beltali. Local people informed the police and SDPO Udaipur Ratan Lal Das and O C Radhakishorepur Police Station Kanti Lal Baidya rushed to the spot with police force. But before they could reach the spot a group of CPI(M) cadres led instigated by CPI(M) Udaipur Divisional Committee leader Dipak Majumder targetted the BJP workers and alleged to have threatened them.

Meanwhile SDPO Udaipur Ratan Lal Das urged the BJP leaders to withdraw the road blockade but BJP supporters demanded the arrest of Jahar Hossen. SDPO told them that without any complaint being registered police can't take any action. However, police registered a case recording the statement of injured Iman Hossen and Ananta Debnath. After this police raided the house of Ochman Gani but before the police could reach there Jahar Hossen was absconding. At this BJP workers and leaders gave police a 12 hours ultimatum or they will again make greater agitation from Saturday.

SDPO Ratan Lal Das told TIWN over phone, " After getting the complaint police raided the house of the accused but till now he is absconding. Hopefully police will arrest him soon. The situation is totally under control. Actually BJP workers blocked the road without informing the police about the said incident and giving any time to police to act. " However, SDPO said that after the intervention of senior leaders BJP supporters withdrew the road blockade and traffic in NH44 became normal from 1pm.
