AGARTALA, March 7 (TIWN): Opposing the modern culture, accusing modern songs are violating the culture, spoiling the nation Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Tuesday evening said that ‘Modern Songs are just crazy and all about waywardness.
CM was attending a programme at Agartala townhall, where Drupad-Sangeet fest was organized for 2 day long.
“In the name of songs, the way the our is moving is ahead …they can not be called singers at all. All songs are baseless and without well foundation no home can be long lasted. Same if the young generations’ foundation / base are not strong then their lives and art will not be stable”, said Sarkar.
This programme was jointly organized by Tripura ICA Dept and WB’s ITC Dept. Tripura ICA Minister Bhanulal Saha, famous Dhurpad singer Ajoy Chakraborty, Executive Director ITC Ravi Srinibasa, ICA Director M L Dey remained present on that occasion.
ICA Minister said that this Drupad-Competition in Tripura has begun from 2015, understanding the fact that it’s the base of all songs. But this year it has been extended to Dist Level and selecting candidates from District wise the talents were searched and today they have given recognition through this programme.
Every awardees were given Rs. 5000/- by ICA Dept.
CM further said that this programme from District level should be taken to subdivisional level from the next year as money is not important but the recognition means huge to the aspiring artists.
Sarkar further said that the artists didn’t receive award should not feel inferior as judgment is often contradictory and relative but judgment have to give.
