However anti-national communists, China-Pakistan supporter CPI-M’s support base diminishing at record speed with no options left other than party’s senior leadership jumping out to BJP and Trinamool Congress to save their political existance. Expelled CPI-M leader Lakshman Seth, a prime accused in the 2007 Nandigram violence case, on Friday joined the BJP at Tamluk in East Midnapore district.Seth was welcomed into the Bharatiya Janata Party fold by its state unit president Dilip Ghosh at a brief function. Seth, a former MP and Communist Party of India-Marxist frontman in the Nandigram movement, was expelled in March 2014 after he attacked ex Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and called the party "autocratic". Seth had spent 118 days in police and judicial custody after the Mamata Banerjee government cracked down on him for allegedly plotting violent incidents in Nandigram in 2007. CPI-M leaders hapless situation indicates party's rout in upcoming elections as masses see CPI-M as anti-national due to closeness with China and Pakistan.
He is now out on bail. Following his expulsion, Seth formed the Bharat Nirman Party which could not make any impact in the state.
