AGARTALA, Oct 21 (TIWN): When patients show their agitation against Doctors, then Health Minister, Health Secretary place their objection and utter in support of doctors, but when comes to the practical ground, no major operation as Brain-Operation, Complicated delivery cases can not be done by Tripura Doctors and thus patients they are referred to other states for operation.

But clamours about Tripura Govt health service are always high when Health Minister Badal Choudhury is delivering speech in any public gathering. Now question  remains if the  Health Secretary or similar high officials family members suffer through a serious condition like brain operation will they keep their patients at GB hospitals?

The girl Barsh Deb (10) has however, survived evenafter 48 hours late brain operation at Kolkata, after GB hospital referred her from there, but their family is under heavy trouble for her costly operation and medicines’ arrangement, but who cares !  On Oct 11 night during a heavy accident between 2 autos many people were seriously injured. Barsha Deb, who belongs to a very poor family, also  got injuries on her head a little. After normal check up, she was returned back to her home saying that she is alright.

But on the next day Barsha started to vomit frequently and she immediately was taken to IGM Hospital. After sitting for hours they came out as no doctors were available there. Then after meeting a private doctor he told them that a bone of her ear has been stuck with brain and she immediately needs operation otherwise she will die.

Sky broken down on that poor family as it was not possible for them to take her to ILS hospital and also that time neurosurgeon was in Puja holiday.  GB Hospital kept her for 1 day, then they said her operation is not possible here in Tripura & now she has to referred at Kolkata Hospital, when already her pain has gripped her brain.

Reportedly, her operation has done, but she got many complications & need to keep her for 1 week atleast. All the relatives, now managing money for her survival.

Apart from her story many incidents similar came out in last few months, when a pregnant lady was taken to Silchar, amidst pathetic condition of NH-44 on that time, as Ventilation processing of child was unsafe in IGM Hospital.

This is the condition of Tripura’s health service. In Arjuna border lined Village area, during a free medical camp held by BSF 159th Btn, it has been discovered on Sunday that 80 % people there are suffering from Skin-diseases. Doctors, hospitals—nothing are available there. In that condition life has become very cheap in Tripura, yet Ministers claim, “Poor people’s Govt. running the so called Golden Era”.
