AGARTALA, Oct 3 (TIWN): Quotas for various Higher Education streams in Tripura are yet reserved for CPI-M’s politician & cadre families, so all kind of entrances, admission dramas are just to show off, which was once again proven when High Court cancelled the NEET qualified students admission to Tripura Govt. Medical College. High Court in that order on Oct 29 also said that there are many qualified students who passed in state Joint Entrance test, and Court also announced fresh 12 students’ name for the admission for 2016. But challenging the order of High Court Tripura Govt. has filed SLP in Supreme Court, due to that the admission procedure has been disrupted. Tripura Govt. is now waiting for the Supreme Court hearing as it appealed in SC to skirt the high court order "for admitting 12 students to Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) as per results of the state joint entrance examination".

The NEET qualified 12 students met Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Monday, but Sarkar told them to wait till Supreme Court’s decision is announced.

On the other hand TMC gheroued Medical Director Bashudeb Bhattacharjee on Monday at his office, asking the reason behind delaying admission procedure.

TMC asked Bhattacharjee: "As High Court has ordered to take admission for other 12 students, who had passed out from Tripura Joint Entrance, why the normal procedure for AGMC admission has not been started yet?"

Protesting the dilemma of Tripura Govt. to follow High Court’s order, Trinamool led by TMCP leader Viki Prasad hit Medical Education Office. However Viki Prasad said that the NEET qualified 12 students are getting full support from the state govt. as one of those 12 students is daughter of Hiranmoy Dey, who is CPI-M’s close mate. Prasad also said , as per Bashudeb Bhattacharjee the admission process to be started from Tuesday (as per High Court’s order).

According to TMC, “let come Supreme Court’s hearing, but the normal admission process can’t be delayed. The high court in its order dated October 29 had nominated the best-qualified 12 candidates but the state government has gone to the Supreme Court only to facilitate the admission of their politically favoured  candidate”. Now criticism has been raised----- as the daughter of a leading figure of pro-CPI (M) doctors association was being sought to be favoured with admission, that is why the appeal to the supreme court.

Just before few days B.SC nursing admission scam had shaken the Education Dept. Due to opposition party's pressure, Tripura Govt. was force to cancel the admission of 348 students to outside nursing colleges. Before that science result scam in HS exam 2016 held in Tripura also raised mass anger among people and now this (12+12)=24 students’ uncertain future is raising question against the validness of Tripura Higher Education system.
