AGARTALA, Oct 3 (TIWN): Although public were eagerly waiting for the Agartala-Kolkata Express train and also media highlighted about the launching of Kolkata-Agartala Express train from Monday, but once again it has been delayed as many works are left to commence a safe journey with this Express Train. As safety has been the main priority of NFR, so it’s better to wait for sometime, rather than starting a new journey in a hit of a moment. Talking to BJP state president Biplab Deb on Monday he said, “It will need more time, as many works are left on it. It’s better to tell people the reality apart from giving false hope to the people. Before Kali Puja, the launching can not be possible, as per as my information”. However last time BJP President Biplab Deb said, ‘Lack of bogies delayed the project’, but it will start from Sept. However, as safety is the first priority so the project has been once again delayed. “But the promise of Express train is not false”, said Deb. The Kolkata-Agartala Express train was one of the demands raised by CPI-M Ministers, MPs and also the Chief Minister on 31st July, during the inauguration of Kolkata-Agartala Express train service. Immediately, the demand for Kolkata-Agartala Express train service raised, Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu announced for immediate work on this project from the month of August.

But due to lack of bogies, and many other ongoing works on Indian Railway Project, the work couldn’t finish in due time. On the day of Delhi-Agartala Express train inauguration, Prabhu also said, “In 2- 3 years, the budget has been increased a lot. In 2014-15 it was 5,489 crores, in 2015-16 it was 6,100 crores, in 2016-17 the target will be atleats Rs. 7,000 crores”.

Modi’s Act East Policy’s blessing continues Tripura’s soil and 2016 is considered as a historical year for Tripura, as in this year state got its first broad-gauge, then one express train & now state is again ready to get the 2^nd Express Train within 2 months of gap.

The Agartala-Udaipur train service also to launch soon, as the Commission of Railway Safety has done inspection to the mentioned route. Safety Commissioner Sailen Kumar Pathak has expressed satisfaction about the work done by NFR on railway tracks & as per report the trial run was quite satisfactory.

Now the proposed Kolkata-Agartala Express train also to start  soon, immediately after few bogies are managed.
