KAMALPUR, Oct 2 (TIWN): After the beginning of Dhalai District Hospital at Kulai in 2012 the lofty speeches of the CM and the Health Minister gave rise to many dreams and aspirations among the inhabitants about the availability of the modern health facilities in the district.

It also became prominent that the patients and patient parties should not run to the capital town on every critical occasion. But, even after the four years of inauguration many issues and infrastructure remained unattained in the district hospital.

The specialist doctors always remained a problem here. Moreover, the infrastructure like full-fledged ICU, blood bank and trauma centre remained absent yet.

As a result, in critical cases if the supply of blood needed than BSM Hospital at Kamalpur remained the only hope. Moreover, if the facility of ICU became inevitable, than the patients got shifted to Agartala.

In case of any major accidents or catastrophe, the only way left remained the shifting of the patient to Agartala. And it became so that the critical patients could avail only a resting place in the gigantic building of the district hospital.

Apart from this the patients could avail curable treatment in the cases of common cold and flu, fever and some digestive disorders. One specialist doctor of the hospital expressed his views on the condition of anonymity that, the hospital got the name of district hospital only.

Other than many PHCs in the state could serve the people with better facilities.

In fact, the apparent look of the district hospital remained completely opposite to the inner reality. And the inhabitants of the district had to undergo pathetic and dreadful experience of governmental health facility in the building.
