KAMALPUR, Oct 1 (TIWN): The decisions of the state government to assist the people for availing the governemental services easily and at the doorstep remained a distant dream for the commoners here at Salema under Kamalpur sub-division. And it happened so as the DCM office remains closed for almost a year.

The sub-divisional administration inaugurated a DCM Office at Salema in the month of October in 2015. The office was started to give preveledges to people of Salema who had to ply a distant of 28 kilometres to reach the SDM Office at Kamalpur for their different needs.

At the beginning a DCM used to seat at the office for three days in a week. But after three months the office got closed. And it never opens till date. Earlier, it was claimed by the SDM Office that, the office got only three DCMs. One remained with the activities of the Nagar Panchayat.

And the tasks of the SDM Office could not be completed by one DCM. Hence, the office had to be closed. Moreover,after the implementation of the e-district services the need of the separate office had turned obsolete.

But, at present the SDM Office got five DCMs. And there remained ample opportunity to make one DCM to seat at the office at Salema. And in this context, the local people raised the demand that, the office should be made functional at least once per week. Now, if the adminstration gift the people with their hopes during the season of festivity remained the matter to be seen.
