AGARTALA, May 25 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar during 34rth book fair inauguration on February 14 said that “People are forgetting the real history, and the BJP Govt’s new addition of history is polluting the mind of the students in schools”. During Manik Sarkar’s speech Bangladeshi artist Hashem Khan was also present, which brought huge embarrassment for the country.

But what Manik Sarkar will say now when many national medias are alleging that Manik led TBSE omitted the history of Indian freedom fighters and replaced them with French revolution history (In Class-9 syllabus)?

The history book Penned by Kalyan Choudhury, former head of history department in Kolkata’s MMC College, the book, which is part of the prescribed syllabus for students across the state, dedicated for the Russian and French revolutions.

The book also has pages devoted to Nazism and the rise of Adolf Hitler besides information on the birth of cricket in England, and Mahatma Gandhi’s whole dedication for the country was limited to his comments over cricket.

Oppositions are alleging that Tripura's Left Front government has removed Indian history from Class 9 textbooks altogether.

The textbooks have chapters dedicated to Russian and French revolutions, as well as the birth of cricket in England, Nazism and Adolf Hitler.

The report also said the first chapters are on European history, the next chapters are about the condition of forest-based tribals during the British rule and the last chapters are on how cricket developed in India and England.
