'Village-justice-meet' murder case : 3 produced before Court

KAMALPUR, May 20 (TIWN): In connection with the murder of Birchandra Debbarma (60) in the village meeting arranged for justice on the day before yesterday at remote Bichitra Choudhury Para under Salema Police Station, police produced the three nabbed youths before the Court. The trend of humiliation and murder in the name of probing into controversies by the leftist cadres and village leaders continued at the rampant in the state.

And the recent incident once again showed the barbarism of the so-called conscious people. In connection with this murder Salema Police nabbed three youths namely Biprajit Debbarma, Shyamal Debbarma and Nikhil Debbarma yesterday. Then the police booked them under sections 302 and 34 IPC in the case numbered 19 of 2016 at Salema Police station.

According to local people and police, the murdered Birchandra Debbarma was alleged with illegal affair with a married woman in the locality. Several times he was warned by the locales and youths including party leaders. But he continued his affair. Then a village meeting was held for probing into the matter in the evening day before yesterday.

 There high altercation took place between Birchandra and others as he completely denied the allegations. Then as the altercation became heated enough three youths attacked Birchandra and he died on the spot. Later, a case was filed from the family of the Birchandra. And police nabbed three youths namely Biprajit, Shyamal and Nikhil of the same area.

Salema police produced them before the Court today. Now, what decision the Court would give remained the matter to be seen here. However, this incident created resentment among the locales as none but the Court of Justice had the authority to declare someone guilty or to snatch life in the process.
