AGARTALA, May 11 (TIWN): National conference series on sport for employment held at Pranga Bhawan on Wednesday. As a part of the program, series of 10 conferences, 78 roundtable dialogues, and 789 focus group interactions across 262 destinations covering 30 states and 3 union territories of India for primary data collection and occupational mapping in sports are organised.
The program was organised by sports, physical education, fitness and leisure sector skills council an initiative of the ministry of skill development and directorate of youth affairs along with others under the aegis of the national skill development corporation.
The main purpose of the program is to shape a roadmap towards making sports a sustainable career opportunity for the young demography of India. It is primarily aimed at identifying and implementing programs that can increase employ-ability.
It is to be mentioned here that dignitaries from the entire sports eco systems including experts in the area of sports of coaching, sports support services , sports manufacturing, sports medicine, sports law, sports events, fitness trainers, sports psychologists, sports teachers, Indian sport players and representatives from the state government.
However, this nationwide series is an effort to draw a clear roadmap for lifelong sports based career option for our health and at the same time encourages the community to think sports as an equally remunerative career at par with technical and or management based careers in future.
