AGARTALA, May 10 (TIWN): With the initiative of ward number 17, a blood donation camp was organised at advisor chowmuhani on Tuesday.

Health minister Badal Chowdhury along with AMC mayor Prafullajit Sinha inaugurated the blood donation camp.

Addressing the inaugural programme the Health Minister Badal Chowdhury said that blood cannot be manufactured in the factory. One person can help another by donating blood. Therefore, people should come up any donate their blood so that the needy person can be cured.

Appreciating the initiative taken by the association, Minister said that there is no alternative of blood. He appealed to donate blood as much as possible as there is no substitute for human blood.

Besides, he also urged to continue with this kind of social activities so that the people can be helped.

Blood donation occurs when a person voluntarily has blood drawn and used for transfusions.

Donating blood should become a habit for the mass as blood can save life. Some time, we come across many patients who pass away due to insufficient blood in the hospitals or the Blood Bank but the regular initiatives of the people may save the life.

It is to be mentioned here that several people need blood when they meet any accident or their body require more blood after the body losses blood in injury or diseases. Therefore, on that situation people require blood which becomes possible with the donated blood.
