AGARTALA, April 17 (TIWN) : One year has been passed, when a minor girl of 10 years had been raped, victimized by her 80 years old private tutor at Udaipur, Chandrapur area. The girl who was studying in class-4, is now studying in class-5. Also back in 2015, many political leaders promised that whole-heartedly they will help the victim, some like Udaipur Mahila Congress leaders even promised Rs 50,000/- cash help but nothing was done even after 1 year of ghastly incident.But question remains, what Manik Sarkar govt is doing to help rape victims, those who have not received any justice till date ? Talking to such a victim family, her father Dulal Dutta, resident of Chandrapur, Udaipur, Gomati Dist said, “The political parties had made empty promises which are now forgotten stories”. Tripura’s Women Congress members, also TCW chairperson Kalyani Roy visited victim's house just a day after the rape . They gave that hapless family a mere Rs.1000/- hidden in an envelope and took many pictures with that family to fetch political mileage.

Members of Tripura Women Commission gave them a phone number to contact them, after that poor family gathered all original documents of this incident,  so that they can get Rs. 50,000/- for her future.

Now when asked about that, victim’s mother told TIWN that none of the members had visited for the 2nd time in their house neither they received their repeated phone calls.

However, not only Congress, but CPI-M and BJP all of the political parties used that rape victim poor family for political milege but practically nobody came to renderreal sympathy to her, but to sell her pains for the sake of political gains.

However, victim’s father learning a lesson from such political lies  said, “We do not bother anymore what happened, neither we need Govt, Opposition Parties help anymore. She is studying and we will try hard to establish her wiht out limited resources”.

It’s to be mentioned here that 80 years old rapist was named Mukaloti Kusum Das. Reportedly, on the day  when the girl went to her tuition home no other students were present, and taking advantage of it her 80 years old tuition teacher raped her.

Later police arrested the rapist and produced before the court. Now, he is roaming after receiving bail.

It is to be mentioned here that the number of crimes against women has gone up in Tripura in the recent years, with the Crimes ‘in India ’report for 2015 published by National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), Tripura ranks 4rth in crime against women and 2^nd in whole North Eastern, where Assam stands first.
