AGARTALA, April 8 (TIWN) : After the failure of Tripura Govt. to bring industrial development via JICA projects and self help groups, this time Tripura CM Manik Sarkar inaugurated Central Govt financed the first ever garment making unit in Tripura on Friday. Central govt financed project which costs atleast Rs. 18.18 crores has been set up at Apparel & Garment Making Centre at Bodhjungnagar, Agartala. However, it may be recalled that the same Union Minister along with CM in 2015, May 20 had laid the foundation stone of this Apparel & Garment Making Centre at Bodhjungnagar at Agartala with the aim to end unemployment in Tripura. But now question arises after the final inauguration---will CM be able to utilize the project? Due to Govt.’s apathy many industries are almost dying here and Govt yet to develop steady industrial growth. As a result, unemployed rates are increasing here day by day. However, Tripura has been burdened with 6.92 lakhs of unemployed.

On the 4th day of Tripura Assembly Budget session on Thursday the state govt. had placed the report of total unemployed people here in the state.

Besides, altogether over-aged 75, 852 people are yet unemployed in the state.

Lack of industries, vocational and skills development training institutes, and absence of government policies are some of the reasons which lead to growing number of unemployed youths here.

The RD department here is filled with corruption here resulting no serious developmental works.

Moreover, IT Minister here lacks vision and interest in industrial  growth.

Whereas Minister Tapan Chakraborty is holding 2 departments in cabinet as 1. the Industries & Commerce (including IT), which is related to the career of Educated people and also the 2. Education Dept., but it seems that the Minister is somehow failing to maintain the balance between the two fields, resulting into a crisis in the state.

As a result, question arising from various corners of the society whether this Garment production unit will bring prospers to the state after the inauguration of Today?

It’s worthy to mention that the project comes under ‘Make in India’, which is an international marketing campaigning slogan coined by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attract businesses from around the world to invest and manufacture in India and to develop states with industry. The campaign has been concentrated to fulfill the purpose of job creation, enforcement to Secondary and Tertiary sector, boosting national economy, converting India to a self-reliant country and to give the Indian economy global recognition.

But now the question is...how far CPI-M Govt generated unemployed youths and will be proven productive to ‘Make In India’ project?
