AGARTALA, March 8 (TIWN): Vote-on-Account of Agartala Municipal Corporation for three months from April 1 to June 30 has been presented on Tuesday at AMC office.
During the programme, it has been mentioned that the tentative income during the month April and June 2016 is estimated to Rs. 5689 lakhs and the expenditure amount stands for Rs. 5700 lakhs.
Besides, it has been mentioned that it has a deficit of Rs. 11 lakhs as per the projected estimates.
Therefore, in the meeting the members were directed to consider the Vote-on-Account to meet the expenditure for three months from April 1 to June 30, 2016.
Besides, it has been mentioned that the budget for 2016-17 shall be prepared soon and shall be presented in the month of June.
During the programme, the tentative amount for the opening balance in April 1 has been mentioned is Rs. 1, 967.60 lakh. Besides, the Revenue Income is Rs. 337.50, assigned rev and compensations is Rs. 39.50, Rental income from Municipal properties is Rs. 45.89, fee and service income is Rs. 12.50, collection from sale and rent Rs. 7.50, investment is Rs. 130, miscellaneous Rs. 11.
However, the sub-total is Rs. 583.89. However, with the Assigned revenue/ subsidy grants, others investment, income from various fund, fund from Central Government, fund from State Government and Deposit work the overall amount is Rs. 5, 689 lakhs.
It is to be mentioned here that the Capital Agartala was founded in 1838 AD by Maharaja Krishna Kishore Manikya (1830-49 AD) of Tripura State.
However, the Agartala Municipality was first instituted in the year 1871 AD. The first British Political Agent appointed for Tipprah in 1871 AD, A.W.B. Power, was offered the honour of being the Chairman of the Agartala Municipality.
Besides, at the meeting expenditure of the establishment, administrative expenditure, repair and maintenance, preplanned expenditure, refund from various head, purchase of permanent assets, General Development work under SOT and own sources of income, Development work, Finance commission and other were mentioned.
It has been mentioned that the expenditure amount stands for Rs. 5700 lakhs.
However, the members of the AMC were directed to consider the vote-on-account to meet the expenditure for three months.
