AGARTALA, Jan 27 (TIWN): Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Pravin Togadia on Wednesday addressed a central meeting of the VHP at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan.

Reportedly, Vishva Hindu Parishad leader Pravin Togadia is on three-day long visit in Agartala with an aim to strengthen the Bharatiya Janta Party of the State.

According to the reports, Vishva Hindu Parishad leader Pravin Togadia is expected to visit the remote areas of the State which includes Kanchanpur, Longtarai valley, Karbook, Shilacherri and Amarpur where the BJP is going to contest for the upcoming village election.

Dr. Togadia would visit Satnala (Kanchanpur) to lay the foundation stone of Sadak Shanti Kali Memorial Hospital on January 28.

Besides, according to the sources, Dr. Togadia is expected to address the public meeting and several other programmes at Agartala, Dharmanagar and Kumarghat.

Pravin Togadia is an Indian doctor and advocate for Hindu nationalism. He is the International Working President of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and a cancer surgeon by qualification. He is known for his hate speeches against Muslims.

Pravin Togadia was born in the year 1956.

Later, he moved to Ahmedabad at age 10 and joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) soon after. He received a bachelor's degree (MBBS) in medicine followed by a master's degree (MS) in surgical oncology. He practised as a surgeon for fourteen years, and established a small hospital, Dhanvantri Hospital, in Ahmedabad.

However, he gave up practising medicine to become more involved in Hindu activism.
