Tripura Police week: Debate competition held at Muktadhara

AGARTALA, Jan 7 (TIWN): As a part of the Tripura police week celebration-2016, a debate competition was organised under the motto of “Every citizen is a policeman without uniform” on Thursday at Muktadhara.

The program is organised by KTDS police training academy. However, DGP K. Nagraj, Former Chief Justice Kalyanjyoti Sengupta and other dignitaries remained present in the program.

It is to be mentioned here that during the competition, the speakers presented their valuable views on this alarming issue.

Addressing the program, the chief guest lauded the efforts for the successful conduct of the programme. They said that Police is at the service and the Public is the master. The efficiency of the police depends upon the attitude of the Public. The purpose of this debate was to extract the opinion for betterment in the performance of both the stakeholders in this case. They hoped that many more such interactions would be organized in near future also.

It is to be mentioned here that Like every other year the five day long police week began of Sunday at Monoranjan Debbarma memorial stadium.

Police week is celebrated in Tripura from January 3 to 6. To celebrate the success of State police, several programs are organized at Manoranjan Debbarma Memorial Stadium, A.D. nagar.

However, in the week long program the first day was marked with police week parade and inauguration of inter unit sports meet. The rest of the day of the week  included a  friendly hockey match, arts and handicrafts exhibition, 10 KM run, quiz events, seminar on police public co-operation, closing ceremony of inter unit sports meet and debate completion.
