UDAIPUR, Jan 3 (TIWN): Hours after one died and 5 people left critically injured from a transformer burst incident on Friday late night, the electricity department finally on Saturday afternoon moved to a village in Amarpur sub-division for the maintenance of the electric wires.

Apart five others are left seriously injured and are undergoing treatment in Gomati district hospital and Amarpur hospital.
The incident took place on Friday late night when high voltage passed in the electric wires from the main transformer burst. Whoever came in contact with the wires were electrocuted and were left seriously injured. Getting alarm two fire engine and huge police force of Birganj police station reached the spot and rescued the injured and brought them to hospital.
Localites alleged that only due to the negligence of the electricity department this incident took place. Even after such an incident, the electricity department did not bother to reach to the spot and do the maintenance work.
