AGARTALA, Dec 23 (TIWN): Patients from the other Districts are referred to the GBP Hospital for better treatment but lack of bed in the Hospital bounds them to take treatment lying on mattress over floor at GBP Hospital. Ministerial Authority in various programmes where claims for better treatment and proper medication of the patients in the hospitals, a huge number of patients in the GBP Hospital are lying on the floor begging for a bed in the Hospital. Besides, the Carelessness of the Doctors and Staff in the Hospital risks the life of the people under the Manik’s Golden era.

Most of the time patients complain that the doctors do not come in given time and mostly the junior doctors come for the assistance of the patients. Allegation has been raised that the time when the Doctors would have visited the patients in the hospital on that particular time they see patients in their own chambers.

However, this not only hits the condition of GBP Hospital but of most of the Government Hospitals in the State. Some hospitals lack infrastructure, some lack  Doctors and some are facing troubles due to the irregularity of the staff and proper treatment. Earlier talking to TIWN, Minister for Health & Family Welfare Badal Choudhury said that the numbers of patients are more compare to the number of bed in the Hospital.

Despite of having 900 beds, the hospital is unable to meet the need of the beds for the patients lying on the floor. Therefore, the initiative for the improvement of the GBP Hospital is under way.

Now the question arises when will be the work of improvement will get complete.

Along with Doctors and staff problem the Hospital also faces damages and cracks in the walls. Besides, lacks cleanliness which leads to unhygienic environment in the Hospital.

Hospital where needs to be kept clean, here patients spend their night in a smelly and unclean environment.

According to the sources, most of the staffs are rude, arrogant, lazy and they handles patient with a negative attitude. Whenever the patients and the patient party ask any kind of help the staff either shouts at them or they will respond to the call lately.

The pathetic situation does not end here; even there are no staffs to carry the patient on stretcher. The patient party has to carry them on the stretcher to take the patient anywhere.

Besides, the patients also had to wait for the doctors for prolonged hours to come and to do the check up. Even if any kind of emergency come up the patient party has to run here and there for doctors to come. It happens once in a blue moon that any doctor comes up on time and does the treatment.

However, despite of several problems faced by the common people, the Manik’s Government are playing role of a silent spectator.
