AGARTALA, Oct 7(TIWN): Demanding immediate renovation of the NH44 over past many months and raising voice against the continuous price hike of the goods in the state, the BJP on Wednesday placed deputation to all the DM of the 8 districts with 9 charter of demand.Speaking to media, BJP state president Sudindra Das Gupta said that state government is responsible for the poor condition of the NH44. He further said that, central government has sanctioned huge amount of money for the renovation work for the NH44 but all the money has gone to the pockets of the leaders of the state government.Quick renovation of NH44 and to control the price hike, to curb the atrocities against women’s, to stop attacking the BJP leaders, to develop infrastructure in the PHC, along with a total of 9 charter of the demands BJP has placed a deputation to all the District Magistrates (DM) of the 8 districts on Wednesday.Gupta further said that, BJP is rising as an emerging party in the state and to interrupt the growth of the party in the state, the ruling party always adopts illegal steps to attacks the BJP leaders to stop the rose of the BJP party in the state.However, to stop the illegal measures by the state ruling against the BJP, the party has placed the deputation to all the DM of the 8 district including DM west.The condition of National Highway has worsened after it was handed over to the State PWD by NHAI, which raised hopes among the commuters that their troubles would meet an end. But their hopes went to vein as the condition of the NH-44 is getting worse day by day. After taking over the charge of maintenance of NH-44 the PWD is not working up to the mark,added Gupta.

After the Ministry of Road Transport and Highway (MORTH) handed over development and maintenance of 104 km of the Assam Agartala National Highway (NH-44) to the PWD from Border Roads Organization (BRO) in July 16th, 2013, the condition of the NH-44 is getting worse day-by-day due to negligence of PWD.

It is to be mentioned here that Keeping in mind of the poor condition of Assam-Agartala National Highway, the state government has decided to use NEC Highway- Kokital to Dharmanagar via Kathaltali to transport essential items to the state as an alternative route and the alternative road is also left in poor condition.

Demanding immediate renovation of NH44 the BJP has placed a deputation with 9 charter of demands to the DMs.
